Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds: Botttom Is Where You Say It Is.

Episode Summary

Only you say where bottom is. And then stop hitting it.

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

I’ve heard it said that you have to hit bottom before you can get back up. People have said it to me. But they don’t know what they’re talking about.

Where is that bottom? How do you know you’ve hit that bottom? What if there’s a whole series of bottoms under that bottom? Do you want to hit all of them? When do you stop hitting bottom?

You stop when you say you stop. You’ll point to whatever bottom it is and say: That’s it! I’m done. I’ve hit this bottom. Don’t want to know if there are other bottoms down there; I’m not going any lower. I’m ready. Ready for what? Ready for the living that comes next.
