Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds - Bryon Howard Knows How To Move To Live Well.

Episode Summary

The more we move our bodies the more we gain. Move it or lose it!

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

My friend and podcasting colleague Bryon Howard  was musing last week about whether, as we’ve been led to believe, life gets better at 55 when one is closer to retirement age. Bryon is closing in on 50 and I had to remind him that 75 is the new 55 - so he still has plenty of time left.

More importantly, Bryon knows how to move what his momma gave him. He’s out and about mountain biking, outrunning avalanches while downhill skiing (ask him to show you the video), trekking, snow shoeing, kayaking, and Fit-Bitting around Calgary as a top producing agent for Re/Max.

Bryon knows something about living in motion: use it or lose it. The more we move the greater our sense of achievement, growth, independence, freedom, physical ability, range of motion, stability, even delaying or preventing chronic illness, and so on.  Whether we  choose to run, walk, swim, yoga, tai chi, qi gong, canoe, kayak, weight lift or all the above, let’s enjoy this time we still have to move while we are temporarily able-bodied.
