Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds: Coming Back With The Mindfulness Bell.

Episode Summary

When we hear the sound of the bell and breathe, we become centered, calm, and smiling in the present moment.

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

Let’s begin today with the Mindfulness Bell inspired by my teacher, Buddhist Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh

We invite the sound of the Bell to bring us back to ourselves. In the busyness of our daily life, we let our mind float away to many distractions. We forget about the unity of our mind, our body, our breath. The bell of mindfulness is meant for us to enjoy coming back. When we hear the sound of the bell, we stop what we’re doing and take three breaths to bring our mind back to our body. Three breaths and we become centered, calm, smiling in the present moment.

Practical Tip: You may wish to download an app or program a bell to your phone or computer. Following are three options to explore:
