Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds: Coming Through the Storm.

Episode Summary

There's a nice feeling to having come through the storm.

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

High winds took out power across the entire island at 11:30 AM on Friday the 13th...........

Puget Sound Electric said power will be restored by 1:30 PM

I drive out to Fort Casey & then Ebey's Landing to enjoy as much of the gale force wind and wave storm without blowing off the cliffs.

Cell phone power is down pretty low.

So I head home late afternoon.

Still no projection on when power will be restored.

Limited gas in the refurbished generator.

And, no stations pumping gas without power.

Read a good book until the sky gets dark.

Go to bed early - like in the old days - the hum of neighbors' generators thrumming the air.

Power comes back on in the wee small hours of Saturday morning.

Take a shower, charge the phone, reset clocks, make coffee, head out to fill the gas cans.
