Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds: Dance Sing Story Silence.

Episode Summary

Win back your soul with dancing, singing, story, and silence.

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

My friend, Gene, in Colorado is a shaman. He knows I’ve been feeling disheartened of late and so he asked me a question: When did you stop dancing?

He knew that years ago I was a ballroom dancer with Arthur Murray Studios, and have done precious little dancing of late. But more to the point Gene knew that when we stop dancing we lose a bit of our soul and the best way to get this back is - to dance - as if no one is looking - as if you have not a care in the world. Just dance!

Practical Tip: As Angeles Arrien teaches, you can also heal yourself by singing, enjoying the sorcery of stories or being still in silence.

Question: How might you choose to experience one of them today?
