Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds For Story Prompt Black Friday: Get Out For a Walk.

Episode Summary

What can you get from a walk that money can't buy?

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday with questions carefully chosen to help you collect stories in the oral tradition or spark your own writing. Either way, you'll say, "Thanks for the memories."

One short year ago Black Friday was a chance to walk off the turkey by mobbing the malls, handing over the credit card, scooping up all those discounts, dropping the shopping bags in the trunk of the car, and dashing back for more.

While you can enjoy Black Friday online, there might be something money can’t buy: Take some time to get outside, explore a trail or neighborhood, the beachfront, a mountain, a park - whatever you have handy. Whether you walk alone or with another now you get to deepen your connection to nature and to each other.

What else do you get? Inspiration, deep breathing, exercise, awareness, powers of observation, strength for your heart, better balance and coordination, less anxiety, feelings of calm, creativity, hope.

Story Prompt:  I’ve heard it said that “If you are seeking creative ideas, go out walking. Angels whisper to you when you go for a walk.” [Raymond Inmon]. Write that story!

Practical Tip: If you wish share your story with someone or something: your journal, your animal companion, the trees in the woods, your loved one, colleagues, master mind group.   All that matters is you walk and listen to the angels.

This is the place to thrive together. Come for the stories - stay for the magic.  Speaking of magic, would you share a nice rating/review on Apple Podcasts and when you come back bring your friends and rellies.
