60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: Courage and Dares.

Episode Summary

"Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway."

Episode Notes

Hello to you in Christchurch, New Zealand!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday with questions carefully chosen to help you collect stories in the oral tradition or spark your own writing. Either way, you'll say, "Thanks for the memories."

My friend Bonni used to say: “Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway.” Which sounds fine on paper but as a practice takes friends and a dare. So Bonnie instituted "I Dare You! Day": on the corresponding day of each month you had to challenge yourself to do something you’d never tried before.

And so it came to be that on the 5th day of May I found myself at Perris Skydiving packing a parachute so I could jump out of a perfectly good airplane at 10,000 feet while screaming, “It’s my life!!!” [Click here to watch the official Bon Jovi music video]

The minute we hit the ground I wanted to go up and do it all over again. Why? For the feeling of freedom while touching the sky and setting my spirit soaring!

Story Prompt: How are you daring to live your one life right now? Write that story!

Practical Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something.   All that matters is you have a story.

This is the place to thrive together. Come for the stories - stay for the magic.  Speaking of magic, I hope you’ll subscribe, share a nice shout out on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time!
