Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds For Story Prompt Friday Shifting Attitudes Of Unfairness

Episode Summary

What can we do to shift our own attitudes about feelings of unfairness - being done to? We can write a new story that exchanges the old one for the better version.

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday with several questions carefully chosen to help you collect stories in the oral tradition or spark your own writing. Either way, you'll say, "Thanks for the memories."

How often have we heard or said at home, in the workplace, in school, “It’s just not fair!” It’s happened to everyone.

Someone took my parking space - ghosted me - dissed my opinion - someone took my idea, my promotion, my turn, my client, my business - someone said I did something when I didn’t .....and so on. The feeling of unfairness grows.

Somehow we know what is or isn’t fair. But how do we know?

Prompt: What’s the story you keep telling yourself about an experience of unfairness? What qualities or traits might enable you to tell a different story today? What would it sound like? And how will that new story shift attitudes in you, your home, or your workplace for the better?

Share your story with someone or something: your journal, your animal companion, the trees in the woods. All that matters is you work towards shifting attitudes of unfairness to the better.
