We live on in stories until they are no longer told.
Hello to you listening in Sydney, Australia and New South Wales!
Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga.
The old ones say that we die three times: the first time when our heart and lungs cease; the second time when our empty body is placed in the ground or on a pyre; and, the third time when there is no one left who remembers us.
Memory. That is why we tell the stories. To keep those we love alive for as long as time and memory allows.
Stories are not empty gestures or a mere form of entertainment of a winter evening. No. Stories are alive! They are as alive as the person you are remembering. If you pause in the telling and listen carefully you might hear them begging you to continue the tales.
Story Prompt: Let’s imagine that you are gone. Let’s imagine that someone is telling a story about you, a good story, a memorable story, a keeper of a story. What is it? What would they say? Write that story!
Practical Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something. All that matters is you have a story.
You’re invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, I hope you’ll subscribe, share a nice shout out on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time! Remember to stop by the website, check out the Services, arrange a Discovery Call, and Opt In to stay current with Diane and Quarter Moon Story Arts and on Linked In.
