Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: You and Your Vocation.

Episode Summary

Where does your deep gladness meet the world's deep need? Write that story!

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday with questions carefully chosen to help you collect stories in the oral tradition or spark your own writing. Either way, you'll say, "Thanks for the memories."

What is vocation? Frederick Buechner says, it’s the place where your deep gladness meets the world’s deep need.

What a long time it can take to find that deep identity, that true self who came here with a true vocation.  I’m still learning that for some of us it’s a long way to find out who we’ve always been and to be that. We may wish to try on the selves of other people but at the end of the day the question still remains: Why are you not you?

Story Prompt: Who are you when you are your truest self? Where does your deep gladness meet the world’s deep need? Write that story!

Practical Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something. All that matters is you have a story.

This is the place to thrive together.
