60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday: A Second Chance to Say “Thank You!”

Episode Summary

When have you been given a second chance to say "Thank You!"?

Episode Notes

Hello to you listening in Saint Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

One summer of my college years I was dating a really rich guy who let me drive his really nice car that Saturday night. He and I, his brother and the girlfriend shared a few beers before we piled into the car and headed out.

I remember the crunch from the right as my forehead hit the rear-view mirror and both cars stopped in a 4-way lighted intersection. To this day I believe the elderly woman who T-boned the car sped up the steep incline and ran the light. But because I was young and had beer breath there was another, more plausible explanation. And yet, no charges filed, no damages, no nothing, but this lesson.

Some days I do not fully appreciate how a great wind is bearing me across the sky. With this story I get another chance to say “Thank you!”

Question: When have you been given another chance to say “Thank you!”?
