Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday: My Mother’s Long Ago Poem to Her Far Away Daughter

Episode Summary

Why would I choose to share this poem with you now? Because, it's a time of wonder.

Episode Notes

Hello to you listening in Skagit Valley, Washington!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

Decades ago when I was in college in New England and mom was a teacher in New Jersey she would mail items of interest, comic strips, bits of this and that she expected I might enjoy. I still have this poem typed on a faded green sheet of paper and mailed during the Advent Season. Why am I sharing it with you? Regardless of our religious beliefs, creeds, leanings, and so on, one can’t help but wonder about the story they say took place some 2,000 years ago.
