Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds For Time Out Tuesday: Ask or Dream?

Episode Summary

When I ask for what I think I want I'm playing small. Option?

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

When I was younger than I am today I used to ask for what I thought I wanted and felt disappointed when I didn’t get what I asked for. In time I may have gotten something else, something better, something unimagined - at least to my conscious mind.

It took age to realize that asking for what I think I want is playing small. How so? “We don’t get what we ask for; we get what we dream of.”  What we dream of might not be right on the surface, may be more elusive. It’s not impossible, just a little more difficult to grasp. But if you believe in dreams then know this: what you dream of is coming to you from where it is.

This is the place to thrive together.
