Episode Summary

Here's a tip to help you create a well of calm and live healthier.

Episode Notes

Hello to you in Inver Grove, Minnesota!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

No matter who we are or where we are I’m betting we all feel some form of stress from minor inconveniences to graver situations. Our bodies respond to stress with tighter muscles, increased heart rate, faster breathing.

We can counter stress by consciously invoking a relaxation response. With regular practice you will create a well of calm to dip into when the need arises.

Practical Tip: Begin some deep breathing, relax your muscles and then starting at the top of your head and gradually moving all the way down to the tips of your toes focus on your body one area at a time mentally releasing any physical tension you feel there. When we become aware of the mind-body connection and let go of what no longer serves us we will begin to experience calm, and that’s a pretty healthy way to be.

This is the place to thrive together.
