Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday: Freedom, Independence and Restraints.

Episode Summary

How to free yourself when it doesn't seem worth struggling for freedom.

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

Some days it’s just not worth chewing through the restraints. What do I mean? Years ago my therapist said, “Diane, if you were a wolf you’d chew off your foot so you wouldn’t stay caught in the trap.” She was right. Freedom and independence have been hallmarks of my life.

But what do you do on those days when it just doesn’t seem worth it to chew through the restraints?

Practical Tip: Free yourself this way: sit back, breathe deep, look around, and find contentment in the present stillness. It works. I know.
