Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds For Time Out Tuesday Looking For Life In All The Wrong Places

Episode Summary

My Life is patient with me while I learn to ask my Life what it wants and to stop looking in all the wrong places.

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

One of my favorite Nasrudin stories is about the night he is found on his hands and knees under a street lamp. His friends ask him what he’s doing and he replies that he dropped the keys to his house. His friends begin to help him look and this goes on for some time yet no one finds the keys. Finally, a friend asks, Nasrudin, are you sure this is where you dropped them?  Oh no, Nasrudin replies, I dropped them on the other side of the road, but it was too dark to see; so I came over here where the light is better....

Sometimes that’s how it goes with my Life. Looking for it in all the wrong places. But my Life is patient. It will suggest that maybe I should look even where it’s dark. Of course there are days I do what I want; but I’m learning. Some days I’m even smart enough to ask my Life: What shall I do? Which way shall I go? Where do you think I should look?

This is the place to thrive together. Come for the stories - stay for the magic.
