Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday: Silence for Ourselves.

Episode Summary

How to create much needed silence for ourselves.

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

I suffer from ringing in the ears. My steady aural companion sounds like one of those old Nutone school fire alarm bells - but higher pitched.

So, exploring the notion of silence appeals to me. What does silence sound like? Where do you find it? When you get there, then what?

Is it possible that silence is a state of mind? Yes.

Practical Tip: When we drop into that space of stillness - whether by pausing, meditating, breathing in and our slowly and deliberately - our heart rate slows, our blood pressure drops, our shoulders relax, and we create for ourselves some much needed silence.
