Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday: Stop. Look. Listen. The Simple Rituals.

Episode Summary

As children we learned to Stop. Look. Listen. Let's be like children again and pay attention to our world aglow.

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

How often were we reminded as children to Stop. Look. Listen. Usually before setting out to cross the street. I wonder what else these words might prompt in us.

How about returning to basics, to the simple rituals, to paying attention and feeling the world of our world aglow with all it wants to share with us.

D.H. Lawrence said, “We must get back into relation: vivid and nourishing relation to the cosmos and the universe ... We must once more practice the ritual of dawn and noon and sunset, the ritual of kindling fire and pouring water, the ritual of the first breath and the last.”

Let’s begin with Stop. Look. Listen.
