Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds For Time Out Tuesday - You Know What You Know; Follow It

Episode Summary

The truth of the matter often is: we know what we know. Trust that and act.

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

Before, during, and after my marriage I asked myself how come I married someone so clearly incompatible. To be fair we were unsuitable for each other. Even the stars said so. I was a single, independent-minded, creative Aquarius and he a twice-divorced, secretive Scorpio from the dark side.

So how come I went ahead? How come I stuck it out? How come I wasn’t the one to end it? Because I knew what I knew and yet wanted someone else to say: "I know what you know and it’s okay to call it quits today, tomorrow, whenever." But no one ever did.

Of course it’s not quite as simple as all that; but the truth of the matter often is: we know what we know.  And when we can trust what we know we can act on that.

Practical Tip: Be kind to yourself, especially when you’re learning the hard lessons. Be decisive when you know what you know. And, when you’re going through hell, keep going. You’ll find the way out.  How do I know? That’s another story.
