Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds for Tips on Thursday: Find Something Grand So You Don't Weaken.

Episode Summary

As long as you believe there is grandeur in Life then you won't weaken.

Episode Notes

Hello to you listening in Farnborough, Hampshire, England!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

In his book The Splendid and the Vile  Erik Larson offers a compelling view of Winston Churchill’s courage and leadership, eloquence and perseverance. He taught the British people to be fearless during a relentless year long bombing campaign that killed close to 50,000 Britains.

Late one night while picking his way through the rubble of what used to be a neighborhood of homes and shops Churchill heard a man call his name. As the story goes the man doffed his cap and said, “Life is grand as long as we don’t weaken.” Imagine that! Life is grand as long as we don’t weaken.

Practical Tip: The whole world is in the thick of it and no Churchill in sight. What to do? Find yourself one grand thing today to remind you of who you are - so together we’ll live, we won’t weaken.

This is the place to thrive together. Come for the stories - stay for the magic.
