Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey: A Day Can Inform Our Life, Our Work.

Episode Summary

How does today inform your life, your work?

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

A week ago I headed to Shore Meadows Beach to walk in the cold, thin, afternoon sun. Everything felt calm - surreal in its stillness. Even Mutiny Bay which is normally roiled by steady winds and shifting tides was as still and reflecting as the face of a mirror. All of nature rested in the collective exhale.

I stood and listened. The only sounds breaking that sacred moment were dogs barking after tossed balls and sticks, the happy calls of walkers celebrating beginning anew, while above us chirping like broad-winged car alarms were the cries of eagles circling the updrafts.

Question: What does today feel like for you? How does that feeling inform your life, your work?
