Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey: Beware Trail Conditions and Control What's in Front of You.

Episode Summary

When hiking - like life - beware the trail conditions and control what's in front of you, step-by-step.

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

The guidebook said that the John Tursi Trail is a moderate 5 mile hike. Yes, that might be in the summer - without spring run-off, over-flowing creeks, exposed rocks, massive amounts of mud, and pine cones just waiting to turn your ankle. It will be rough going.

Now what? Continue on or turn back? I’m here; I may as well keep on. Up ahead is the Hall’s homestead, a miner’s cabin, old caves, a majestic cedar grove, plus all the northwest nature you could ask for.

Just like in life: beware the trail conditions and control what’s in front of you one step at a time!

Question: What tip do you have for when the going gets rough and you keep going?
