Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey: Yes! Come What May.

Episode Summary

In the face of uncertainty we must be willing to say "Yes! Come what may."

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

Walking Greenbank Farm with cold wind charging across winter-barren fields I looked east across the Saratoga Passage to the Northern Cascade Mountains. Each jagged peak etched in frozen snow and ice as far as the eye could see. I wondered about the early settlers who crossed mountains - rugged and forbidding - unaware of what awaited them on the other side except maybe this: that the lives they had led were not going to be the lives they would lead.

How did they do it? I can’t say but I can imagine that it took willingness in the face of uncertainty.

Like them, we will have to forge new paths in the days to come; but we can and we will as long as we remember to say “Yes! Despite the odds. Yes! Come what may.”
