Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds: No Matter Where You Might Be in the Pack, Show Up and Be Successful Now!

Episode Summary

No matter where you might be in the pack the world needs you to show up and offer your work now, not later.

Episode Notes

Hello to you in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

The other evening my friends and colleagues Leanne Gordon, Michele Salomon and I were chatting about how successful we saw ourselves in relation to the pack. It was somewhat discouraging. Then Leanne mentioned that the oldest living person in Australia is Dexter Kruger a gentleman of 111 years. His beloved wife Gladys pre-deceased him by several decades and at the age of 86 he wrote his first book, a labor of love for her. He’s working on his autobiography which will be his 13th book.

Does that mean it’s okay to wait until we get to age 86 to do our work successfully? No. We might not get there. If we do get there we might not be able to do the work. So, we become successful now. Get going and keep going no matter what the pack says.

This much I know: the world needs you to show up, bring what you have to offer, in the way that only you can offer it and that is success enough.
