Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds Walking Away Becomes Leaping Towards

Episode Summary

When plans tank name 3 things you've accomplished under difficult circumstances and then walk away. A walk away is often a leap towards. It works. I know.

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

In my very early podcasting days I enjoyed a  long chat with my new friend and podcasting colleague Brandi Heather up in Alberta, Canada. My plan was to finally edit and post our wonderful, long overdue conversation.

That plan totally tanked.

Why? The interview has technical issues, microphone issues, sound issues - all mine. I’m ready to set my hair on fire and pack it all in.

But sometimes it takes a sister to say: put down that box of matches while I remind you that 3 short years ago you packed up your car with 3 kitties in 3 carriers, left a home of 20 years, a decade's long nationally recognized litigation consulting practice, drove 1300 miles north to a place where you knew no one, bought a house needing demolition and renovation, *and* figured out how to be your own general contractor.

She’s right, you know. When you start doubting yourself, find 3 things that you accomplished come hell or high water. And then, walk away from the problem at hand. Why? Because there are moments in time when walking away becomes leaping towards. Anything can be solved with a walk away.

This is the place to thrive together. Come for the stories - stay for the magic.
