Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds: Walking To Walk

Episode Summary

No matter what, we can walk it off.

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

I’m walking for the sake of walking now. The one thing, the one thing dad missed more than any other in the several months he lived in the facility before his passing was being unable to get up and go outside, sit in the sun, breathe the fresh air.

No matter the suffering we may have or the difficulties, if we pay attention to our walking in this present moment, letting go of past regrets, letting go of future worries we return to ourselves.

I’m aware that one day I won’t be able to get up, get out and walk as I do today. So, I walk for the sake of walking and smile to my feet, to my legs that carry me many miles most every day.
