Stories From Women Who Walk

60 Seconds: Your Life Work Takes a Lifetime.

Episode Summary

Don't give up just yet. Your life work takes a lifetime.

Episode Notes

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.

Maybe you feel like this, too. I’ve been wondering about my life work: who is it  for, what is it for, how come it’s not turning out the way I envisioned, is it normal to stand at the cross-roads in doubt or, feeling as if "I’ve lost my dwarves, my wizard and my way." [Hobbit 1977]

We’re not alone. Even the masters of their craft struggle with what and how. Dizzy Gillespie was the man when it came to jazz! An American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, composer, educator and singer he created harmonies and rhythms previously unheard in jazz.

You know what he said: “It’s taken me all my life to learn what not to play.”  ~ Dizzy Gillespie

I guess we’re in good company after all.
